Ashish Gupta's exuberant designs celebrate a more-is-more philosophy. Classics such as A-line skirts, trench coats and straight-leg pants are transformed with bright colors, bold prints and explosions of crystal, sequin and floral appliqués. All the considerable handwork in his designs are done at his workshop in India. Born in Delhi, Gupta originally studied fine art. He grew up in Toronto, then moved to London to study at Central St Martin's. The designer was first was spotted by Browns Focus, and debuted his first collection in 2001. The New Generation award-winner's fans include Elizabeth Jagger and Mena Suvari.
