Christiane Celle, founder and designer of Calypso, has always lived by the sea. Born and raised in Cannes, France, she launched her first clothing store on the island of St Barths, later relocating to East Hampton to raise her family ' and build her label. No surprise then that her collections are designed for the resort lifestyle. Colorful, individual and fun (think pretty smock tops and light cashmere wraps) her look is light and feminine. A style, she claims, that is a result of growing up in the sunny south of France, far from the darker, urban look of Parisian women.
