The idea for Marie Lichtenberg's heirloom-inspired jewelry stems from a necklace she received from her mother at fourteen - the designer hopes her pieces will bring the same meaningfulness to them. Strung on a braided cotton cord interspersed with pearls, this handmade style is centered with a 14-karat gold locket that's inlaid with sparkling diamonds and enamel to depict an evil eye - the ancient talisman is believed to ward off negativity and bring good luck.
