Despite, or rather because of, the fact that it makes you think ‘boudoir’, silk elevates everything from an off-duty look to traditional workwear. The key to getting the balance right is keeping your palette muted and your accessories considered. Take your cue from Attico designer Gilda Ambrosio (above right) and play with textures by contrasting a silk blouse with a patent mini and crystal-encrusted Cinderella shoes, or emulate LA-based stylist Annina Mislin’s (above left) chic monochrome look and layer a belted blazer over a simple slip dress.
