    The inspiration: “A sleek side parting gives '70s disco curls a contemporary urban kick.”

    Get the look: “Apply a volume-boosting mousse or texturizing spray to freshly washed and conditioned hair. Create a low parting, then braid small sections from root to tip. Clamp each braid with straightening irons to set, leave to cool and brush through. Sweep hair across the forehead and secure with two kirby grips just above the ear to finish.”

    THE pretty knot

    The inspiration: “The classic English rose gets updated with a loosely braided chignon.”

    Get the look: “Dampen hair and part on the side of the head, just below the arch of the eye towards the crown. Apply a texturizing spray, then roughly blow-dry with fingers. Braid three small sections of hair and tie into a half-up style with a clear elastic band so the second and third braids are still visible. Roll locks loosely into the back of the head and secure with pins. Pull some strands around the face for a nonchalant effect.”
