When I was a teenager, I never really saw the point of putting clothes and shoes in cupboards. Not my more treasured items, anyway. There was that pair of gold-glitter stiletto boots bought from the King’s Road in London, for example (a whole size too small), which I used to place on my little dressing table like a rare exhibit.
