fantastic so I watch what she wears. We like to go to shows or look online and then fight each other for the best [pieces].”

Modeling quickly segued into acting and, after getting a small part in the 2001 film Bandits, Jones decided to move to Hollywood. The gamble paid off, with minor movie roles keeping her busy until Mad Men came along in 2007.

At the time, the cast and crew didn't know if Mad Men would get picked up by a network. Six seasons in, with series seven to be the last, how does she feel about saying goodbye to the career-changing show? “It will be very sad. We are all so close that we will keep in touch, but I don't think we will ever have this kind of experience again – from the relationships we've made to the success we have had, to the cultural impact [of the show].”

“I am not sure BETTY would be able to recognize WHAT would make her HAPPY”

And what of the character it is so difficult to separate her from? “I am supposed to say I'd like Betty to find happiness or end up with Don, but I think that would be unrealistic. People just don't end up with the happily ever after, you have your good and bad days. I am not sure Betty is the type of person who, when faced with what would make her happy, would be able to recognize it.”

Could this be another link between the two? Jones also appears to struggle with accepting what makes her happy: “You get paranoid, right? You might think, 'Oh, my career is great, my family is happy, things are going well.' And you then you might think, 'Hmmm, but I don't have the best boyfriend.' It's always looking for the next thing, rather than letting yourself just live in it and relish it. You are always wanting more.”

With that, she illustrates the point perfectly by departing to do a little New York shopping before her next meeting – leaving us, inevitably, wanting more.
