Ballgown wearing. It feels like such a dying art, doesn't it? Thank God, then, for the red-carpet event – the one instance when you can really go for it, push the envelope a little on the dressing-up front, the way you can't really do in 'real life'. And don't worry about looking like an award nominee; it is actually rude not to make an over-the-top effort – that would be like going to a fancy-dress party in your regular clothes.
