• Style Rethink
Traveling long haul doesn’t have to leave you short on style – simplicity is the way to go, says CHRISTA D’SOUZA

Long-haul flights. As Bill Gates once cleverly put it (and this is a man with his own plane), 'Airplane travel is nature's way of making you look like your passport photo.' Just the thought of that skin-drying cabin, that willful destruction of a killer blow-dry and that inevitable tightening of ones rings makes me wilt. Even worse is the general dishevelment when one alights at the other end. It's amazing how an item of clothing that looked so crisp and laundered and fresh at the beginning of a flight can emerge in such a wretched state at the end of it, whichever class one flies. Just what is it about traveling 30,000 feet
