through her magazine work that she met the actresses she styled for the red carpet.
“I never liked that phrase ‘the stylist’. They all have their own style – you just provide a service. If you’ve ever been objectified on a red carpet, it’s pretty terrifying,” she continues. “As a designer, I absolutely take into consideration that they are going to feel great, be comfortable and secure, and look good from every angle.”

seductive, old-world feel: super-feminine silhouettes; rigorous cuts; nipped-in waists; pencil skirts, high-collared blouses; elegant, long-sleeved dresses. It is not so different from Scott’s own
predilection for form-fitting numbers, but the designer asserts that her own style is far removed from her collections: “I would say the opposite, but I put a lot of my experience into it.”
It is hard to imagine Scott ever looking anything less than utterly glamorous: she glides into The Edit’s shoot wearing a black lace dress from her own label and a long, dramatic caramel silk trench from Lanvin. “I asked, ‘Can I have that sweeping and dragging?’, and Alber [Elbaz] said, ‘No problem, we can add 10 meters on for you’,” she jokes.
She did, however, go casual for this year’s Glastonbury music festival, where the Rolling Stones were the headline act. She wore Wellington boots and slept in a luxury yurt – both firsts. “I loved it – the yurt was super fun,” laughs Scott, who also put together her other half’s costumes. “The whole thing is about stage value and comfort. You have to make sure they can move. And for Mick that’s a lot,” she says, as we discuss
Jagger’s phenomenally energetic performance. “It’s really hard to live with! You just think, ‘I have to get up and exercise’. He has a lot of energy.”
Between keeping up with Jagger and running her ever-growing empire, is there ever time to relax, let alone be sinfully indulgent?
“Oh, yeah,” says Scott. “If all the kids are there, we will have pizza for lunch and I always overindulge. I can put a lot of food away. What fun would it be to be perfect all the time? And, by the way, I don’t know anybody who is.”
