Eva Herzigova in blazer by Balmain; pants by Jason Wu
“A chic white piece to lift your evening look.”
“Tuxedo-style pants spell after-dark elegance.”
When Helmut Newton created his 1975 photograph of a model on a midnight Paris street wearing a Saint Laurent Le Smoking, an iconic fashion look was born. This season, designers reworked the androgynous, seductive classic – why, even the LBD got a sleek new twist, taking its cue from the tux.
This week’s cover star, supermodel Eva Herzigova – who repeatedly turns to this look to stand out on the red carpet – shows off one chic Le Smoking-inspired ensemble after another: to-die-for tuxedos by Balmain, Roberto Cavalli and, of course, Saint Laurent, a jeweled jumpsuit by Pucci… With her swept-back hair, flame-red lips and cool allure, this is borrowed from the boys at its most seductive.
The Edit also catches up with Trish Summerville,
who talks about her futuristic costume designs for The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and the exclusive new collection for NET-A-PORTER they inspired.
We also share the rules of after-dark dressing in our video, and decadent beauty looks to last all night long.
