By now, you must know my feelings about over-the-top party dressing. Not good ones, not good ones, at all. Although I love this time of year – the cozy evenings, the fires, the general bonhomie – my heart sinks at the frantic dressing up the so-called “party season” always involves. As it happens, I’ve got two big fat dress-up parties in the same week, each with pretty much the same guest list. Already, as I wake up every morning, I feel the dread: what the HELL have I got in my closet that is festive and different enough to wear for both?
