- Less formal, more fun, today’s new lady matches perfect polish with
easy chic, says DANIELLE FOX
THE UPDATE: The classic lipstick becomes a new-age lip stain, which gives the pigment of a lipstick but without the high maintenance. No need for constant touch-ups: the new liquid lipsticks go on wet, dry fast and won’t budge. For a bold pout, look to DKNY and opt for spring/summer’s hottest hue: orange. The color-shy could re-create Burberry’s pale-rose pink, which gives pouts the prettiest skin-toned finish.
HOW TO: A lip stain can be slicked on with a finger or brush; just keep a cotton bud to hand for any touch-ups.
insider tipBe wary of layering lipstick; the more moisture you put on top, the more it breaks down the pigment and fades color.
