    If I cast my mind back to the late ’80s/early ’90s and what everyone was wearing, the first thing that comes to mind is gold. Gold via one’s bag; via one’s belt; via one’s jewelry. Not discreet slivers of it, but big, fat layers in chunky chain loops, possibly set against the backdrop of quilted leather, à la Chanel. Which reminds me: where is that utterly fierce gold chain belt from Chanel that I bought myself back in 1991? It would come in so useful now.
