- This season’s most seductive pieces whisper rather than shout. CHRISTA D’SOUZA tackles the nude palette
If Dr Seuss had written a grown-up version of his famous children’s book My Many Colored Days, I wonder what color the word ‘sensual’ would be? Not ‘sexy’, not ‘smoldering’, but the altogether more subtle ‘sensual’; an adjective that somehow implies a softness and vulnerability that instantly appeals to the opposite sex.
Sensuality is the pervading mood for SS14, but how to work it in the cleverest, least overt manner? The answer is via what will heretofore be referred to as “Foundation Shades” (blush, nude, buff, beige, putty) – colors that soothe the senses rather than assault them.
