Here’s where they hide out... By MARK C.O’FLAHERTY
Siem Reap, Cambodia
When Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were touring the temples of Angkor Wat, they took over the whole of what was once the 1960s guesthouse of King Sihanouk. The hotel is more Palm Springs than classic Khmer in style, and operates like a private home rather than a hotel. In the blazing heat of the afternoon, a musician plays the fiddle-like troh, a traditional Cambodian instrument, in the shade by the pool.
Best for: Drives around town in the hotel’s 1965 Mercedes, with its white calico interior and linen suit-clad driver. From KHR4,152,748; amanresorts.com/amansara
