THE GOLDEN SHADOW
Metallic eyes are a key look for SS14 and will add evening polish to a daytime face.
HERE’S HOW: Start by sweeping a warm brown shade like Ellis Faas Creamy Eyes in Deep Warm Taupe over the lid and into the crease of the eye socket to create a smoky depth. Next, use a small brush like Lancôme’s Eyelid & Brow Bone Shadow Brush to take the gold eyeshadow three-quarters of the way across the lid. Makeup artist Diane Kendal, who created the metallic eye looks backstage at Jason Wu SS14 (pictured), recommends “not taking [the gold shadow] to the outer corners, to keep the dark, winged effect.” Finish with Laura Mercier Faux Lash Mascara.
