- The key to a polished look is in expertly groomed eyebrows. Keep yours arched to perfection with our guide to brow maintenance. By DANIELLE FOX
From Pat McGrath’s groomed and golden arches at Dior to Lucia Pieroni’s bold, brushed-up brows at Alberta Ferretti, there was no shortage of inspirational eyebrows on the SS14 runways. Credited as “coat-hangers for the face” by MAC’s Director Of Makeup Artistry, Terry Barber, a good set of brows really can give defining structure to your makeup. But if your tweezer-happy youth has resulted in sparse gaps, where do you start? With an arsenal of tools and treatments for filling and grooming, it’s never been easier to build better brows.
The first step is finding a shape that suits your face. “My clients constantly request the ‘Cara Delevingne brow’,” says Vanita Parti of Blink Brow Bars and B The Eyebrow Experts. “Yet the likelihood is that many won’t have the same brow foundation; it’s best to work with what you’ve got.”
First, seek the help of an expert. “Having your brows professionally shaped can be the equivalent of a mini facelift,” says Burberry’s makeup artist Wendy Rowe. “Healthy brows add impact to the face, lift the cheekbones and make the color of your eyes pop.”credits
