Editor's notes

For Alexander McQueen's FW12 runway show, Sarah Burton rebelled against the idea that the future must be "stark and cold" and instead delivered a poetic collection that was as feminine as it was visionary. One of the first looks presented, this icy lilac dress wowed the front row with its textured-brocade and hand-embroidered metallic blooms. Take inspiration from the catwalk and wear yours with winter-white accessories and slicked back hair.
