Green has been a familiar color over the past 12 months, as we escaped our homes in favor of walks into wilder pastures and transported our inner-city socializing outside. So it’s perhaps only natural that designers have gravitated towards a verdant color spectrum this season, inspired by summery limes and rich forest shades, like those seen at La DoubleJ. Yes, green is very much on our horizon.

Christopher Esber’s apple-hued dress is just the ticket for trans-seasonal wardrobes. Crafted from a flattering ribbed knit, the flecked melange texture of multi-depth greens feels both fresh and warm, making it an ideal choice for the color-shy wanting to add some brightness to their after-dark wardrobes.

It’s a must-buy for shopping editor Viktorija Tomasevic. “I’m more of a stick-to-neutrals kind of shopper and I stopped experimenting with color years ago, but this Christopher Esber dress encouraged me to think otherwise and instantly won my heart,” she says. “Green is having a big moment this season, and the lime shade will add some joy to my closet.”

In true day-to-night versatility, adding a sophisticated flat like The Row’s now-cult ‘Gaia’ sandals and an easy, cross-body satchel from Savette will make you feel polished no matter where you’re headed.

The fact that it’s a three-in-one piece – its row of buttons at the waist and thigh allow it to be adjusted and worn as a tank top, mini dress or maxi style – offers ultimate wardrobe mileage, which convinced Tomasevic that this was the perfect addition to her new-season arsenal. “I’ll mix it up this summer by wearing the tank with white tailored shorts from Bottega Veneta, while the dress is ideal for layering with polo necks and elongated overcoats when the chill sets in.”

For now, though, Tomasevic will be wearing hers with “gold jewelry and sun-kissed skin for day; come evening, I’ll leave a few buttons undone for a subtle yet sleek look.” Fresh, fun and feel-good – what’s not to love?
