A curated roundup of the best new fashion arrivals, hand-picked by our editors
Holiday dressing might be synonymous with sequins and sparkles, but with the exception of the occasional soirée, most of us actually use the festive season as a time to unwind – and our sartorial tastes tend to follow suit. When it comes to curling up in front of a fire, watching Christmas movies or playing board games with friends and family, comfort is key. However, this emphasis on ease doesn’t mean that elegance need fall by the wayside: opt for sumptuous knitted separates and you’ll be covering all bases.
Los Angeles-based brand Re/Done’s cozy cable-knit cardigan is the perfect case in point. Year round, you can layer this oversized piece over everything from floral dresses to leather pants and blue jeans, but, come holiday season, we’d recommend pairing it with Loewe’s ribbed-knit pants. Cast in a chic sage shade, these wide-leg trousers are infinitely more stylish than your standard pajamas or track pants. Finish the look with a pair of Falke’s woolen socks – the pattern, inspired by Norwegian firs, is a fun nod to the festivities – and JW Anderson’s shearling-lined mules for extra style kudos.
Of course, the holidays are also a great opportunity to step up your self-care regime. Tata Harper’s cult products combine high performance with natural ingredients – her smoothing body scrub uses the power of botanicals to leave your skin feeling silky smooth and rejuvenated, making it a failsafe stocking stuffer, too.
For fashion assistant Hannah Krall, her main priority this season is finding a statement coat that’s covetable and fit for purpose. Which is why, when Isabel Marant Étoile’s checked shacket landed on site this week, she was quick to snap it up.
“New York winters are brutal, so I’m always on the lookout for chic pieces that I can layer up to keep me warm all season long. This Isabel Marant Étoile shacket is the perfect blend of comfort and style. The colors and print are playful without being over the top. I’ll be styling this over a turtleneck sweater and leather pants for ultra-cold days. It’s a great addition to any wardrobe – I know I’ll find myself reaching for this staple piece time and time again.”
