As a child, Jason Wu begged his mother for a sewing machine so he could make clothes for his dolls, later revealing that he created a corset complete with boning and hand-embroidery. His sense of construction has only become more finely honed over time - this glossy satin top has fluttering draped sleeves to highlight the cold-shoulder silhouette.
