It might not be obvious at first glance, but Alexander McQueen's dress is modeled on a deconstructed trench coat. Cut from red faille, it has an off-the-shoulder neckline traced with voluminous ruffles that trail down the front to a floor-grazing hem. The bodice is boned, so it comfortably stays in place, while the generous back split nods to the original inspiration.
