Influences this season include the works of Romanian sculptor Constantin Brâncuși and the high drama of ’80s Parisian couture, resulting in a captivating interplay of style and structure that is simultaneously luxurious and self-aware. “This is a collection for standing tall, unafraid and unbowed,” says Sandra Choi, the label’s Creative Director. “I’ve focused on evoking a real drama in the structure, sculpting the forms and cut of the uppers, as well as creating a harmonious balance in the proportion of the whole. Whilst designing this collection, the word that kept coming into my mind was ‘strength.’ At Jimmy Choo, we strive to produce designs that evoke a sense of strength and daring. There is glamour, of course, but the glamour is an irreverent expression of feminine power and self-determination.”
