A curated roundup of the best new fashion arrivals, hand-picked by our editors
As the penultimate stop on the fashion month schedule, Milan never fails to shine – even during a period of transition for many of its most-loved brands. And as the shows so far have proved, there’s a lot to be excited about for the season ahead.
After presenting its FW25 collection in the Italian city yesterday, Max Mara has been fresh in our minds; especially its exquisite tailoring. This ‘Palchi’ blazer is impeccably cut from white wool-twill with face-framing peak lapels and a flattering nipped-in waist that highlights your figure – making it a timeless addition to your closet. Wear yours to special events with the matching pants; or opt for Bottega Veneta’s relaxed black pair if you’re heading straight from the office to dinner.
The monochrome palette means you can have fun with your accessories, allowing you to choose pieces in different colors and textures each time. A chic way to make an impact, Jil Sander’s elegant tote comes in the most gorgeous green shade and has a contrasting bamboo top handle that makes it look like a prized vintage find. Complement the jewel tone with Gianvito Rossi’s metallic leather mules for a look that is worthy of the front row.
On off-duty or meeting-free days, swap tailoring for knitwear. From a brand that has mastered both, Blazé Milano’s ‘Highland’ sweater has an easy, relaxed shape and feels beautifully soft. “A chic sweater is always a trusty wardrobe staple,” says NET-A-PORTER’s shopping editor, Viktorija Tomasevic. “The neutral color, sumptuous wool and cashmere-blend, and engraved gold buttons make Blazé Milano’s polo feel particularly elevated and versatile,” she adds. Like all good staples, it goes with practically anything, meaning you’ll get plenty of wear out of it throughout the week. Tomasevic suggests styling it with denim for the weekend, or under a suit for the office. Whichever pairing you choose, be sure to add Gucci’s buckled ballet flats – detailed with heritage horsebit hardware – and a pair of wire-framed sunglasses for a look that exudes effortless elegance.
