If there’s one item editors unanimously agree is an everyday wardrobe essential, it’s the blazer. And if there’s one brand they’ll direct you to, it’s Blazé Milano. Launched in 2013, the Milan-based brand is the brainchild of three Italian stylists – Corrada Rodriguez d’Acri, Delfina Pinardi, and Maria Sole Torlonia – who met during their time at Italian Elle. The elegant trio agreed that the ‘perfect blazer’ (their uniform for dashing between shows during fashion week) was missing from the market. So, inspired by perennial style icons such as Coco Chanel, Ava Gardner and Grace Kelly, Blazé Milano was born.

From its very first collection, the brand has celebrated Italy’s sartorial history, with a philosophy that is grounded in love and respect for cut and craftsmanship. Each piece is handmade in Milan, applying the same level of attention and artistry to each blazer as a tailor would when creating a bespoke suit. They began with five silhouettes and a series of trunk shows, quickly garnering a cult following for their impeccably cut and crafted pieces. The ‘Smiley pocket’ was a stroke of design genius, intended to eliminate the need to carry a bag (due to its capacious cut) – and the detail has become both instantly recognizable and highly covetable.

The latest collection, for fall/winter ’25, is called Sounds Like Milano, and was unveiled via a showcase held at a classic Milanese apartment. As the collection notes detail, each piece exudes “the same confident elegance that always characterizes the brand’s collections”. The palette is pitch-perfect for the season, featuring warm chromatic colors: “enveloping shades in an array of browns, camel and chocolate… and on to lime-green and mustard”. As is often the case with Blazé Milano’s designs, you’ll spot a sprinkling of 1970s inspiration, not just in the palette, but some of the details – think languid lines, high-waisted details and seductive texture, from soft velvets to carefully spun tweed and knits.

These days, the Blazé Milano blazer offering has expanded to also feature enveloping outwear and sleek separates, such as column midi skirts and crisply tailored high-waisted pants – all of which the brand refers to as “structured but soft” silhouettes. Indeed, Blazé Milano’s fall collection seems to encompass all the elements of an elegant Milanese capsule closet. Spot the sleek satin ‘Skyros’ midi dress – the perfect evening cut – alongside the camel ‘Tatoosh’ shearling coat, complete with signature ‘Smileys’. A coordinating duo of black midi skirt and oversized vest, both featuring glossy oversized buttons, will take you neatly from a day in the office to an evening event – offering a covetable versatility that the brand’s founding designers have always championed.

Of course, blazers were still very much in evidence, too – rendered in rich velvets and tweeds, those cult pockets elegantly highlighted with rhinestones. Fittingly, the lineup was shown to a soundtrack of jazz, namely Miles Davis and John Coltrane – elegant down to the last note.
