Plaid coats have been on our minds ever since Chemena Kamali’s debut collection for Chloé last year, where the designer sent billowy, cape-effect styles down the runway – and this version from the brand’s Resort ’25 presentation has gone straight to the top of NET-A-PORTER’s head of fashion content Gillian Brett’s wish list.

“I’ve become quite obsessed with a throat latch – it’s a chic heritage detail that makes coats and jackets so much cozier and is great when you’ve forgotten your scarf. This wool coat by Chloé, with its pretty, flip-up contrast collar and throat latch is an investment piece I know I’ll wear for years,” says Brett. “I gravitate towards oversized shapes for outerwear – I think they are much more flattering and, naturally, great for layering multiple knits beneath if you’re someone who feels the cold like I do. I’ll style it with a chunky cashmere turtleneck, straight-leg jeans and knee-high boots for maximum warmth throughout this freezing February in London.”

If you’re heading to the office, slip it on over a classic shirt and tailored pants, adding a chic bag like Khaite’s ‘Olivia’ style in supple beige suede, and ankle boots to balance the bucolic feel. As for finishing touches, jewelry is often the key to making an outfit entirely your own. Agmes’s ‘Marta’ earrings are crafted from gleaming gold vermeil and have a swirling hoop shape that’s at once minimal and distinctive. Sunglasses are also essential, and you’ll find the perfect everyday pair in Oliver Peoples’ sleek ‘Avelin’ shades.

On low-key weekends, prioritizing comfort is always a good idea. Perfect whether you’re roaming around a gallery or going for brunch, Róhe’s sweater is spun from a blend of merino wool and cashmere so soft that you won’t want to wear anything else. Continue the relaxed feel by pairing it with Wales Bonner’s recycled-jersey ‘Mantra’ track pants – inspired by retro styles and detailed with sporty white stripes along the sides. For extra cool points, slip on adidas Originals’ ‘Japan’ sneakers in red and white leather – and finish with a slouchy tote.
