Fashion
Modern with a twist, Kunduz’s style evolves from season to season, and she is often inspired by some of her fashion-confident clients

“Growing up, fashion and interior design were always big talking points in my home. I would listen to my mum and my aunts discuss the latest jewelry trends, or which stores were stocking the most exciting new designer; fashion was something that my family and I always embraced. In my teens, I would pore over my mum’s various magazines and cut out pieces, pictures and photo shoots that I liked, compiling them in my so-called ‘portfolio book’.

“As a Personal Shopper, my aim is to ensure that my clients discover pieces they love and have the most enjoyable shopping experience possible. Creating long-lasting relationships is a process; it takes time to truly understand the client’s preference and lifestyle. Having forged strong bonds with many of my clients, my role has now expanded, and I often source unique pieces for them.

“A few years ago, one of my clients requested a bespoke piece of jewelry designed around a colored gemstone. The brief was loose but, having worked with her for years, I knew she would want the stone to be from a mine with impeccable eco credentials. I joined forces with the NET-A-PORTER buying team and cult jeweler Anita Ko. The client eventually selected a Columbian emerald and we had it set in a white-gold and diamond choker. The client’s smile when she saw the final piece and tried it on for the first time gave us all the biggest rush. Moments like that are why I love what I do.

“I’d describe my personal style as modern with a twist, although it does evolve from season to season. For winter, I love more classic and minimal pieces that are subtly elevated with eye-catching design details – my go-to brands are The Row, Brunello Cucinelli, Christopher Kane and Balmain. I don’t have any style icons per se, but I really admire women who dress with an attitude and use fashion as a means of self-expression – from one day to the next that could be my colleagues, my neighbors, my close friends or my clients!”

The A-line skirt

“I love the functionality and elegance of an A-line skirt. It can help create definition by cinching in your waist and subtly skim your body, creating a ladylike silhouette. It’s also super-versatile when it comes to styling: you can pair it with a cropped blazer for a chic evening look, tuck in an oversized shirt for an easy desk-to-dinner outfit, or pair it with flats or sneakers for an off-duty vibe. You can always count on The Row for impeccably tailored styles. Honestly, a well-crafted A-line skirt is a must-have; it’s feminine yet practical, and a timeless addition to any woman’s arsenal.”

Colorful gemstones

“I always compare fragrance to jewelry; every woman should have a signature gemstone and a signature scent – pick the one that speaks to you. The beauty of colored gemstones is that each one of them is a magical creation of nature and truly one of a kind; each inclusion and cloud in the stone has a story to tell. Personally, emeralds and sapphires are my favorites, and I actually love wearing them together. In terms of styling my jewels, I love layering necklaces and bracelets, but I never stack rings – I like showing each one off properly. The same goes for my earrings.”

A printed dress

“The thing I love most about printed dresses is that they require minimal styling prep, and they’re a fail-safe choice when you have an impromptu girls’ brunch or dinner date – Alessandra Rich, Emilia Wickstead, Altuzarra and Etro are my go-to labels. Between seasons can be a tricky time when it comes to styling, and while a printed dress might sound like a dedicated summer piece, when you pair it with a cardigan or blazer it has year-round appeal. When I’m dressing mine up, I add a pastel blazer and ankle boots; for day, I’ll usually opt for a cropped leather jacket and box-fresh sneakers. Prints and patterns add instant fun and personality to your outfit, meaning all you really have to think about are the finishing touches.”
