Silver linings

Cool-toned metals are set to be huge news for fall, with flashes of silver adding a clean, contemporary edge to autumnal colors and textures. The smooth, high-shine finish of By Pariah’s sculptural earrings, for instance, will balance the softness of a cashmere sweater, while Juju Vera’s ‘Petra’ pendant provides the perfect contrast to a languid silk dress. For something a touch more understated, Spinelli Kilcollin’s set of three ‘Jovie’ rings will add a hint of sparkle to your everyday ring stack.

Under the sea

This season’s marine-inspired jewels are no drop in the ocean – like the aquatic fauna seen at the Haute Couture shows, they’re bold, beautiful and made to be noticed. From sea creatures to clamshells, designers capture the wonders of the underwater world using elaborate crafting techniques and vibrant, scintillating gems. David Webb’s ‘Fish’ cuff is a particular highlight. Carved from azurmalachite in oceanic blue and turquoise hues and tipped with sapphires and diamonds, its playful design is a beautiful high-jewelry homage to its namesake. Wear it with a sleeveless gown or try layering it over the cuffs of a shirt. Elsewhere, Lucy Delius pays homage to seafarers and maritime adventures with this ‘Anchor’ necklace. The pendant shines with Victorian-set pavé diamonds against a blackened backdrop to resemble a true antique and swings from the brand’s signature ‘Albert’ clip.

Statement beads

Our obsession with beaded jewelry is still going strong, but unlike the bright, beachy styles that dominated our feeds all summer, this season’s iterations are much moodier and come in deep, midnight hues. From the brand’s Nyx collection, Lucy Delius’s necklace spotlights a string of inky black pearls – each carefully hand-selected for its unique color and shape – and a diamond-encrusted fringed pendant. Layer yours over an open-collar shirt or let it drape along the back of a plunging dress. Alternatively, reach for Jia Jia’s necklace to zhuzh up a simple sweater or tee – the deep lapis lazuli beads are flecked with glimmers of gold, reminiscent of the night sky.

Year of the Horse

What better way to celebrate the Year of the Horse – the Chinese zodiac sign associated with energy, strength and independence – than with an equestrian-themed keepsake? Whether it’s a gift for yourself or a loved one, a dainty horseshoe charm is a key trend piece for fall and a fitting way to mark the moment or a significant milestone. Jennifer Meyer’s bracelet is dainty enough to be worn every day, while Foundrae’s 18-karat gold malachite necklace looks even better layered with other meaningful pieces in your collection.
