Trending Now: Colored Pants
From vibrant reds and electric blues to softer shades of pink and yellow, colorful pants are brightening up fall wardrobes. Discover the colors to know and the street-style looks that are inspiring us – and how to wear them now
From the current fall/winter collections to the spring/summer ’27 runways, color is firmly back on the agenda. Luckily, there is no shortage of ways to add an on-trend shade to an outfit: a bright knit, a statement coat, a well-chosen accessory. But why should they have all the fun? This season, we’re turning our attention to pants. Worn with understated wardrobe staples or paired with equally striking hues, color-pop pants are the fashion crowd’s new favorite staple.
Make a statement
Wearing bold color doesn’t mean the rest of your outfit has to follow suit. In fact, the brightest shades often look their best against classic wardrobe staples. Take Róhe’s red tailored pants, which look particularly chic with a charcoal-gray blazer and pointed-toe pumps. Comme Si’s cobalt-blue style is an ideal match for a relaxed cashmere sweater and sleek loafers, while Still Here gives its bestselling jeans a fresh twist in a zingy shade of orange. Wear yours with a classic white tee and chocolate-brown leather jacket.

The softer side
At the recent spring/summer ’27 shows in Milan, Bottega Veneta, Jil Sander and Marni embraced soft, powdery shades, while the street-style set showed how well they translate to fall. But there’s no need to wait for spring. At Paris Fashion Week, model Paloma Elsesser wore pale yellow pants with a white tank and pointed shoes, while style muse Izzi Allain styled her pink pair with an oversized black leather jacket. For a more autumnal take, Stouls’ butter-yellow suede flares look particularly good with a chunky gray knit. McQueen’s blush-pink style, meanwhile, marks a departure from the house’s typically monochromatic palette, while Marni’s muted green pants look particularly good with rich burgundy knitwear.

Mix it up
If you’re in the mood to experiment, take inspiration from fashion editor Tamu McPherson, who paired fuchsia taffeta pants with a tomato-red top, belted brown leather jacket and snake-print heels. It’s an unexpected mix, but one that just works. Try Chloé’s purple pants with a burgundy knit, or give Róhe’s aforementioned red pants a softer spin with a pale pink shirt. Cobalt blue looks equally good with camel, particularly with a crisp white layer to break up the color. After all, the best color combinations aren’t always the most obvious.
