  • Create This Perfectly Prim Runway Look With These Key Buys

Shake off any schoolgirl associations you might attribute to ribbons. Bows were the prettiest hair accessory on the FW17 runways, with many shows demonstrating their modern, grown-up appeal when paired with a tailored pantsuit or floral print dress. There are no rules: at Tory Burch (right) and Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini, thick black velvet bows were tied around relaxed ponytails. At Emilia Wickstead, a long, thin strand of grosgrain ribbon was knotted into hair and weaved through the lengths. Hair stylist Guido Palau advises against perfectionism – if your bow is undone, floppy or asymmetrical, it simply adds to the charm.
