IN THE MORNING

I usually wake up at 5:30am…

…and the first thing I do is stretch, followed by some light lymphatic drainage using my La Vie en Rose Deluxe Face Roller, which I keep by my bed. The combination of the naturally cold crystal and gentle facial rolling alleviates morning puffiness and helps to awaken the senses. Then I make a rose tea and meditate for 15 minutes on my deck overlooking the Hollywood Hills.

I like to give my face a morning massage…

…using my Rose Quartz Gua Sha Lifting Tool. I designed it to be the same shape as my knuckles, to match the effect of the facial-massage technique I use in my treatment room. The rose quartz stays cold so it stimulates blood flow and improves circulation. It’s the ultimate wake-up call for your face.

My skin is my billboard…

…so I’m hyper-vigilant about my routine. I do a thorough cleanse before I go to bed so, in the morning, I just splash my face with cold water and pat it dry with a towel. Then I reach for my Detox Serum for my T-zone and use moisturizer for the rest of my face and neck. I tend to obsess more over my skin than my makeup. That said, I do like soft and natural makeup for daytime, with just my lash curler, mascara, SPF and a lip and cheek tint.

I work out two or three times a week…

I prefer Pilates, and would like to do more, but it’s hard to find the time. I’m also in awe of my friend and client of many years Helena Christensen, who introduced me to boxing. It’s an amazing all-over body workout and is very challenging.

I am a fan of the wellness movement…

…and supplements are a part of that for me. I have been using Glow Inner Beauty Powder by The Beauty Chef for a while in my afternoon smoothie. I’m also working with a lab and testing for my own line further down the road. There is such a big connection between our skin and what we put in our bodies.

IN THE EVENING

My ideal evening involves music…

One of the things I love most about LA is the ability to do things outside, all year round, in gorgeous weather. My favorite night out involves listening to live music while sipping rosé. If I’m at home, I’ll light lots of candles, order a Thai takeout and have John Coltrane or Edith Piaf in the background.

I like to read at the end of a busy day…

My current book is Grit by Angela Duckworth. I majored in business at college and so I am slightly obsessed with business books. For pure pleasure, I like to escape with Maya Angelou or Milan Kundera.

My evening skincare routine starts at around 9:30pm…

I remove my makeup and then apply my Dream Exfoliant Mask for five minutes. After a rinse, I use a sheet mask and then massage my Vibrating Rose Quartz Face Sculpting Roller over it, which helps the serum in the sheet mask penetrate further.

I prefer soft lighting…

I’ve been in the spa business for 25 years now, so I feel most at home surrounded by soft lighting, soothing music, candles and fresh flowers. Energy and mood are very important to me. I think it comes from being a facialist.

I love to cook…

…and in fact I once spent a summer studying at the Sorbonne in Paris and took a Cordon Bleu class. Ever since then, I’ve been obsessed with cooking and using farm-fresh ingredients. My signature dish is pan-seared halibut with a medley of fresh niçoise olives, roasted tomatoes and wilted spinach.

Sleep is essential…

…and luckily I can practically sleep anywhere – at any time. Just give me a spritz of lavender essential oil (I’m rationing the bottle I picked up in Provence last summer) and I’m asleep in minutes, sometimes seconds. I believe sleep is an integral part to looking and feeling younger. It’s a time for our bodies and skin to regenerate.
