Streamline and smooth puffy skin
The famous Leg School at the Capri Palace has a brilliant program for toning limbs, but the key flesh-honing essentials can be done at home – and for the whole body. The daily schedule includes a coffee scrub (caffeine stimulates circulation), 30 minutes wading through hip-deep pools of hot and cold water, followed by a cooling gel massage. For some ‘home schooling’, use the Le Labo Coffee Body Scrub once a week. In addition, alternate running hot then cold water up the legs (if that’s too much, go just to your knees) post-shower or bath every day – run the cold for 20 seconds, the hot for 15 seconds, and repeat three times. Then dry off and firmly massage in the brilliant leg re-shaping Legology Air-Lite Daily Lift for Legs.
Polish and prime dry skin
The skin on our bodies can get ultra-dry, giving it an almost gray sheen, and we sometimes develop those strange little (in some cases red) bumps on the back of our arms, thighs and buttocks. To combat these issues, you need a skin peel, not a scrub. If the problem is just limited to one small area, anything you use for the face will work really well, including peeling pads and serums like Zelens PHA+ Bio-Peel Resurfacing Facial Pads, Lancer Retexturing Treatment Cream, or Caudalie Glycolic Peel. Make it part of your regimen and complete it twice weekly to keep the problem at bay. Alternatively, swap to a glycolic body lotion – Lancer’s The Method: Body Nourish is amazing, as it gives dull skin a glow right away; over ten days of daily use, it really overhauls the look of your skin.
Nourish and plump dull skin
I love natural oils as they treat skin on a deep level, giving a plumpness and healthy tone than no cream can. On skin drier than the desert, however, I’ve found that a mix of the two works brilliantly – the cream seems to seal in the benefits of the oil. My favorite duos include Rahua Body Amazon Oil or Aurelia Probiotic Skincare Firm and Revitalise Dry Body Oil, mixed with Grown Alchemist Intensive Body Cream or Dr Sebagh Supreme Body Restructuring & Firming Cream. One part oil to two parts cream is my magic formula.
Clear and clarify breakout skin
Again, facial skincare products work equally well on the body, and the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Medi-Spa Peel pads are great for blemish-prone chests and backs (BHAs are great for problem skin). Or try the Kypris Beauty Body Elixir Inflorescence – ideally, mix it with the brand’s Clearing Serum and apply as and where needed.
