MARLA AARON Fordite painted 18-karat gold earrings

Marla Aaron's earrings feature 'Fordite' discs - what looks like marbled agate is actually layers of hardened car paint that's been chiseled off the floors of the Ford Motor Company between the years of 1960 and 1990. They're suspended from handmade 18-karat gold hoops and have a surprisingly lightweight feel.
