A leather jacket instantly uplifts a spring outfit, adding a cool edge to denim or tailoring

The leather jacket

A leather jacket is an investment piece that will serve you well for years to come. Biker styles are, of course, a classic choice, but if you’re looking for one that feels different from what you may already own, try Alaïa’s hooded version – the elegant shawl collar adds a unique point of difference (and just the right amount of polish). Slip it on over midi dresses or relaxed, high-waisted pants to mix up the proportions. Bomber shapes tend to feel a touch more casual, and Jil Sander’s take is ultra-luxe while still being utilitarian enough to wear on repeat. Seeking a statement piece? Look to Khaite’s ‘Malone’ flight jacket from the spring/summer 2026 runway, which adds instant cool to day-to-night outfits, no matter where you’re heading.

The track jacket

Track jackets made an unexpected return to the runways last spring, kick-starting a retro sportswear revival that’s still going strong. For the coolest new-season takes, look to Wales Bonner (a longtime champion of the style), Dries Van Noten and Saint Laurent. Take cues from tastemakers by styling Loewe’s ’80s-inspired crinkled satin bomber with a lace-trimmed slip and heels. Alternatively, add a laid-back feel to workweek tailoring with Tibi’s techno-inspired style.

The bomber jacket

This season’s bomber jackets subvert the norm by playing with proportion and detailing that bring an entirely new dimension to the sporty staple. Japanese brand Sacai fuses timeless style with streetwear cool, and its army-green shell bomber comes with a statement pleat at the back that not only loosens up the silhouette, but gives it an urban, architectural mood, too. With chunky zip details, it’s perfect paired with stompy boots and tartan skirts, as well as with relaxed-cut stonewashed jeans. A NET SUSTAIN favorite, Chloé’s beige leather style comes in a cropped, cinched shape with padded shoulders and voluminous sleeves – it’s giving ’80s vibes in the chicest possible way. Looking for a more contemporary silhouette? The Frankie Shop’s oversized ‘Astra’ bomber is just the ticket.

The feminine jacket

This season, there is an elegance to jackets that feels evocative of a bygone era – think boxy tweeds, bow-tipped blazers and smooth satin finishes that bring a pretty, vintage-inspired element to your look. Gucci’s chic metallic tweed jacket has a playful ’60s feel and comes in glittering pink and burgundy tones, while Altuzarra’s knitted ‘Conroy’ version is speckled with shades of brown and has ornate gold buttons that make it the perfect day-to-night style. Minimal dressers will find a new favorite in Kallmeyer’s wool-blend grain de poudre ‘Benny’ blazer. Cut in a clean-lined shape with a neat collar and vented sleeves, it looks as chic styled with straight-leg jeans as it does with the matching wide-leg pants and heels.

The oversized blazer

Every wardrobe needs a blazer, whether it’s to complete your office look or add polish to an off-duty outfit. This season, the blazer comes in relaxed, extended lengths that offer effortless drape. Loewe’s single-breasted style balances fluid proportions with sharp shoulders and a utilitarian D-ring belt. Wear it cinched for shape, or loose to channel a menswear mood that will look great thrown on over jeans and a white tee. Elsewhere, Bottega Veneta and Róhe offer more structured styles that riff on menswear, while Stella McCartney’s cream wool-twill blazer (another NET SUSTAIN highlight) feels very bridal. Wear it with the matching pants for your own Bianca Jagger moment.

Bold, primary colors refresh classic cuts and cropped trenches for the new season

Bold color

The spring/summer 2026 collections were awash with primary shades so good, even the color-averse can’t resist them. If you want to try adding a pop of color to outfits beyond accessories, but in a way that feels just as effortless, then try a jacket instead. Givenchy’s chic red blazer will instantly uplift classic navy, black and brown tailoring – and is arguably just as versatile. Elsewhere, Saint Laurent’s ’80s-inspired coat from the runway comes in the most gorgeous cobalt-blue shade that will stop everybody in their tracks. Wear it on days when you need a bit of a confidence boost.

The denim jacket

The enduring cool of a denim jacket makes it an effortless off-duty ally with an unmatched ability to dress down smarter, more polished looks. Agolde’s distressed ‘Aubrey’ jacket in a mid-blue hue is just the ticket for endless versatility – it’s slightly oversized, meaning it can be layered over knitwear on cooler days. For something a little more romantic, Chloé’s organic denim jacket from our NET SUSTAIN edit comes in a vintage-inspired blouson shape and has gold chain embellishments at the pockets. Meanwhile, Ossou’s ‘Sway’ jacket stays true to classic American trucker styles, complete with contrast topstitching and a tapered hem.
