The Beach Clubs Setting The Summer Agenda
From Amalfi Coast staples to new Ibiza boltholes, plus Mauritius and Mykonos’s best gems, these are the beach clubs where stylish and cultured travelers will congregate this season. By NATASHA BIRD
Le Sirenuse Mare, Nerano, Italy
Le Sirenuse has embodied the Amalfi Coast at its most elegant for decades. Now, as the celebrated Positano hotel marks its 75th anniversary, the Sersale family has unveiled Le Sirenuse Mare, a beach club in nearby Nerano. Reached by boat from Positano, it unfolds across gardens, pebble beaches and sea-facing platforms, with a 180-seat restaurant, three bars and an outpost for Emporio Sirenuse, the fashion and lifestyle brand conceived by co-owner Carla Sersale and designed by Viola Parrocchetti. Between seafood lunches and sea swims, browse hand-embroidered cushions, the Ànemos ceramic collection and stunning resortwear. As Le Sirenuse’s other co-owner Antonio Sersale says: “It is a place [our family] cares about deeply and that care is something guests recognize and come back for.”

Tétou, Cannes, France
On the edge of the Bay of Cannes in Golfe-Juan, Tétou is one of the French Riviera’s best-kept almost secrets. It’s the kind of place that locals and regulars still frequent, meaning over-tourism hasn’t dulled any of its charm. Arrive by boat or settle onto the waterfront terrace for what many consider the Côte d’Azur’s definitive bouillabaisse, served according to a closely guarded family recipe. There are no DJs or elaborate theatrics here; the appeal is almost all in the sun-faded glamour of an age-old staple – impeccable seafood and uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean.
Cali Mykonos x Missoni, Greece
Another moment for fashion and travel to collide beautifully, this year at Cali Mykonos, where Italian house Missoni has once again transformed the hotel’s beach club and poolside spaces. Signature zigzags and vibrant stripes adorn everything from loungers and parasols to towels and beach accessories, in playful contrast to the property's minimalist Cycladic architecture. Overlooking a secluded bay on Mykonos’s quiet eastern coast, the club combines Greek hospitality, blue waters and a stylish sensibility. It is one of the few beach club occasions where the textiles actually compete with the beauty of the surrounding scenery.

Experimental Beach Ibiza, Spain
Found within the protected salt flats of Ses Salines, Experimental Beach feels a world away from Ibiza’s headline-grabbing party scene. On the rocky shoreline of Cap des Falcó, the bohemian beach club has become one of the island’s most excellent places to watch the famous sunset and draws a fashionably boho crowd for rosé, oysters and sea views. White daybeds dapple the sand down to the sea, with the backdrop of a distinctly Balearic soundtrack.
Faena Miami Beach, US
Bold, theatrical and unapologetically glamorous, Faena Miami Beach is one of the best beach clubs in the US. Set against a backdrop of Art Deco architecture and sweeping Atlantic views, its red loungers and striped parasols create pure visual drama. Expect elevated Latin-inspired cuisine, impeccable service and a soundtrack that shifts seamlessly from mellow afternoons to vibrant evenings.

Lido Villeggiatura at Villa Sant’Andrea, Taormina, Italy
Nestled away in the sheltered Bay of Mazzarò beneath Taormina, Villa Sant’Andrea’s private beach is a true diamond, with a much more luxurious, quieter approach to beach days compared to some of Sicily’s busier summer hotspots. You have to reach it via a winding coastal road or by boat, but the extra adventure is more than worth it, as you discover the Belmond retreat’s gorgeous stretch of shoreline, sparkling water and views of the Isola Bella nature reserve. Make a day of it, between lazy sunbathing, floating in the sea and eating freshly caught seafood. Elegant and understated, for discerning travelers.
Beach Rouge, Grand Baie, Mauritius
At LUX* Resorts & Hotels’ flagship property in Mauritius, the brand’s signature beach-club concept, Beach Rouge, has been impeccably designed by Kelly Hoppen and serves a fresh, locally sourced menu from morning to night. Set on a tranquil stretch at the water’s edge, it offers a wonderfully serene spot for swimming, whatever the season. Bonus: the club’s name is inspired by the spectacular red glow that illuminates the space at sunset, while crowds gather to enjoy the resident DJ.

Nio Beach Club at NIHI Sumba, Indonesia
On an island twice the size of Bali but a fraction as visited, Nio Beach Club is a delightfully rare escape. Part of the legendary NIHI Sumba, the open-air pavilion overlooks one of the world’s most celebrated surf breaks, with a 20-metre infinity pool suspended above the Indian Ocean. You have the option of horseback riding or excursions into the jungle as well, if lazy sun chasing only interests you for a short time. With just a handful of villas scattered across hundreds of acres, it feels serenely disconnected from modern life.
Lily of the Valley, Saint-Tropez, France
Hidden within the protected Cap Lardier nature reserve, Lily of the Valley offers a refreshing alternative to Saint-Tropez’s more hedonistic beach scene. Designed by Philippe Starck, the retreat has become one of the Riviera’s defining wellness destinations, combining transformative health programs with access to the sandy shores of Gigaro Beach below. Guests can spend mornings paddleboarding or sea wading before settling on the terrace of La Brigantine for Italian classics looking out on the water. It combines style with some purpose, for the Côte d’Azur’s wellness-conscious crowd.

Maçakizi, Bodrum, Turkey
The boutique sanctum of Maçakizi sits in the bougainvillea-adorned hills overlooking Türkbükü Bay on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast, along the serene northern side of the Bodrum Peninsula. A chic and ultra-private oasis, its laid-back aesthetic blends seamlessly into a picture-perfect backdrop, making the beach club a glamorous destination favored by those in the know.
The Peligoni Club, Zakynthos, Greece
While family-friendly isn’t always a hallmark of most beach clubs, The Peligoni Club is the exception. This members-only retreat, both relaxed and refined, is tucked away on the secluded north side of Zakynthos. A labyrinth of leisure spaces – from feasting tables to sun loungers and a hidden spa – cascades down to the Ionian Sea. There is truly something for everyone, with a curated program of chef pop-ups, wellness workshops, water sports, and live music events, as well as ample activities to delight younger guests.

Delano Miami Beach, Miami, US
Few hotels have shaped the modern Miami aesthetic quite like the Delano. Now, after an extensive reimagining, the legendary address has reopened its doors, ushering in a new chapter for South Beach. The iconic pool, soaring lobby and famed Rose Bar have all been lovingly restored, while the arrival of Paris Society’s Gigi Rigolatto brings a dose of Italian Riviera energy to the Atlantic shoreline. Between beach cabanas, Bellinis by the water and long lunches of handmade pasta and seafood beneath swaying palms, it really is a delightful way to spend a weekend. Blending nostalgia, design and people-watching, the Delano once again feels like one of Miami’s most desirable places to be.
Casa Tua Mare, Capri, Italy
Opened on Marina Piccola this season, Casa Tua Mare brings the members-club spirit of Miami and Aspen to Capri’s gorgeous bay. Surrounded by views of the Faraglioni, the club pairs the island’s trademark glitz with a slightly more laid-back ease compared to other venues. Guests arrive by tender, settle into plush loungers or retreat to a discreet private beach, before lingering over Mediterranean dishes prepared by the brand’s first Italian restaurant. Spend a languid morning here, swimming and indulging.

Beachouse Ibiza, Spain
On the sands of Playa d’en Bossa, Beachouse has evolved into one of Ibiza’s most all-encompassing day-destinations. In the mornings, they offer yoga and smoothies, followed by afternoons lounging or, if you’re a parent, chaperoning your little ones over to Little Beachouse – a group for younger guests, with arts, crafts and movement activities. It’s rare for an Ibiza club to feel multi-generational, so hold on to this one while you can still book a bed. Towards the evening, the menu favors delicious seafood treats like tuna tartare, langoustines and spaghetti vongole. The club offers a program of Moonlit Dinners and monthly Lunar gatherings, so there is truly something happening every hour of the day.
Shellona, St Barths
Overlooking a particularly bright turquoise stretch of the Caribbean, Shellona blends Mediterranean soul with island spirit. The Greek-inspired menu brims with vibrant, sharing-style dishes – from oysters and moules saganaki to tender skewers of lamb and beef. Tucked into a secluded curve of sand, the vibe is effortlessly relaxed by day, with live music and DJ sets that gradually shift the tempo as the sun slips below the horizon.

Palazzo Avino, Ravello, Italy
Romantic hideaway Palazzo Avino is the only hotel in the cliff-top town of Ravello with its own private beach club, Clubhouse By The Sea. The Clubhouse – a walled villa – features cantilevered platforms dotted with white umbrellas alongside a flower-edged plunge pool. On another terrace sits the restaurant, offering spectacular views of the Amalfi coastline stretching to the towns of Maiori and Vietri. A wood-burning oven produces pizzas and the fish of the day, but otherwise, it’s as minimalist a beachside haven as you could wish for: no DJs, no special effects, no motorized beach toys – just two ladders plunging into the deep-blue Tyrrhenian Sea.
Ciro’s Cannes, France
Occupying prime real estate on the sands of La Croisette, Ciro’s Cannes totally maximizes on the nautical glamour of the Riviera. Set on the private beach of the legendary Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic, the club is designed in the spirit of a classic superyacht, with teak decking, blue-and-white accents and a jetty that extends into the Mediterranean. Think ostentatious seafood towers, oysters and grilled fish, enjoyed as you look out towards the Lérins Islands. Later, indulge in sundowners by the water’s edge as you people watch on the French littoral. This place truly captures the essence of Cannes.
