Introducing Loewe Perfumes’ Crafted Collection

Over the years, LOEWE has become synonymous with many things – the go-to brand for well-dressed industry insiders, cult accessories, viral social media campaigns, and a continued level of extraordinary excellence in creativity. But beyond that scattering of deserved accolades (of which there are plenty more), it is the brand’s commitment to craftsmanship that is at the core of LOEWE.

Since its inception, LOEWE’s craftsmanship has been its raison d’être – you can see it in the way the iconic ‘Puzzle’ bag is pieced together, the cut and fabrics of the brand’s ready-to-wear clothing, the curated way in which its scented candles are an extension of the house’s codes – and now, that unwavering craftsmanship has been brought to life in a new range of unisex fragrances: LOEWE Perfumes’ Crafted Collection.

The three fragrances – Bittersweet Oud, Roasted Vanilla, Iris Root – are all presented in beautiful bottles that deliberately sing with imperfections, inspired by the look of traditional handblown glass. Each sculptural flask features myriad bubbles and is topped with a tactile granite cap, which plays into LOEWE Perfumes’ continued celebration of individuality, while setting this collection apart from the brand’s existing fragrance offering.

The nose behind this new era of scents is perfumer Núria Cruelles, who has previously sparked a fragrance frenzy with creations such as Tomato Leaves and the bestselling LOEWE Paula’s Ibiza Eau de Toilette, Eclectic and Cosmic fragrances.

This new imagining, though, is something different, more intense, more sophisticated, more crafted – where artisanal pursuit and vivid creativity have come together to make singularly bold olfactory statements.

Here’s what you can expect from LOEWE Perfumes’ Crafted Collection.

For LOEWE Perfumes’ Bittersweet Oud, Núria Cruelles presents a different way of crafting a timeless fragrance ingredient: oud. Native to Southeast Asia, oud is a precious resin that is derived from the resinous heartwood of the Aquilaria tree. It is a complex and rich ingredient, often blended with sweet ingredients to balance its naturally woody, smoky, spicy and earthy notes. However, LOEWE Perfumes has created something more unexpected by blending the rich oud with contrasting bittersweet orange, neroli, elemi, and osmanthus oils. The result is an opulent fragrance that strikes a balance between earthy intensity and uplifting freshness.

Sensual and addictive, Roasted Vanilla is a spicy fragrance that reveals its complexity through its central ingredient. The initial sweetness of the vanilla bean is complemented and grounded by the essence of oakwood, adding rich, woody intensity and hints of aged cognac to the scent. As a bright contrast, pink pepper provides a sparkling note that adds a gentle lightness to the scent, creating an enveloping rich fragrance.

Iris Root is the Crafted Collection’s floral fragrance. Celebrating one of perfumery’s most precious ingredients, this soft, buttery, powdery perfume is centered on the precious iris root – or orris butter. Iris root has a long and highly artisanal extraction process, which requires up to five years to produce from harvest to final product, resulting in a uniquely comforting olfactory note. Zingy Timut pepper provides a grapefruit-like aroma, while the powdery composition is balanced with neroli, sage, cashmeran, tonka bean, cedarwood heart and musk notes. The result is a citric and floral perfume that is classically creamy yet unexpectedly vibrant.
