Most Wanted
A curated roundup of the best new fashion arrivals, hand-picked by our editors
If you’re looking for a wardrobe investment that combines style and culture, Stella McCartney’s latest capsule, created in collaboration with none other than music legends The Beatles (frontman Paul is her father, after all), comes with guaranteed ROI. In fact, not only is this piece a future collectors’ item, the riotous designs, psychedelic prints and Beatles iconography are also a sure-fire way to add some joy to your closet. That’s exactly why shopping assistant Viktorija Tomasevic was quick to snap up a colorful cardigan when the capsule landed on NET-A-PORTER this week.
“Usually, I gravitate towards neutral colors, but this year, I think we all need some optimism and positivity in our lives – and closets. This Stella McCartney + The Beatles cardigan is the ultimate mood-booster and is sure to make me, and those around me, smile every time I wear it. I’ll be styling it with blue jeans and chunky boots for an easy trans-seasonal look.”
Of course, if you’re in the market for even more cult pieces to add to your capsule closet, Parisian powerhouse Chloé should be your go-to. It’s impossible to overstate just how well received Gabriela Hearst’s debut for the legendary label was when the Uruguayan designer showed her first collection back in March. Since then, the hype has only been building. Hearst’s appointment caused a stir from the moment it was announced, and yet what’s most remarkable is the affinity between her eponymous label and the French institution. First and foremost, both have equestrian roots that run deep, have mastered a sought-after type of feminine utilitarianism and are known for designs subtly imbued with a sense of fun. Nowhere is this more evident than in this season’s must-have Chloé + Moon Boot collaboration.
This trophy piece first made an appearance in Hearst’s FW21 collection, staged on the streets of Paris. After models were seen pounding the pavements in these playful yet practical boots, they instantly jumped to the top of wish lists worldwide. While it goes without saying that they make a serious statement, they’re also remarkably easy to style. Tuck blue jeans into them or pair with oversized knits and luxe track pants – Extreme Cashmere’s are incomparably cozy – to lend your off-duty look a directional edge.
Elsewhere, Budapest-based label Nanushka has continued to gather serious momentum – particularly thanks to its plush vegan leather – and this season is no exception. The brand’s shearling coat is a design hero that would make an invaluable addition to any woman’s wardrobe. This classic style can be shrugged on over any look, but we recommend tapping into its ’70s undertones by layering it over a second-skin turtleneck and accessorizing with a slouchy bag and chunky gold jewels.
