Normal People by Sally Rooney
Sally Rooney was 2017’s breakout literary star. The 27-year-old author’s first novel, Conversations with Friends, captured the contemporary experience of young adulthood, winning her the Sunday Times Young Writer of the Year award and masses of fans, including Sarah Jessica Parker. Her second novel, Normal People, is a tender love story that continues to explore the ways we (struggle to) communicate. Out September 6, 2018
Fashion Climbing by Bill Cunningham
Upon his death in 2016, the family of beloved fashion photographer Bill Cunningham discovered that the notoriously private artist had written a secret memoir. Tavi Gevinson, another creative maverick beloved by the fashion industry, has dubbed it as essential reading. “Fashion Climbing has everything you’d want in a fashion memoir (industry politics, elaborate window displays, hijinks at galas), but it’s also a manifesto for living authentically,” she says. “Just like Bill Cunningham’s photography, this book is anti-snobbery, pro-having-fun-at-all-costs, and awake to the pleasures of being oneself.” Out September 4, 2018
Becoming by Michelle Obama
“The process of writing this book has been so personally meaningful and illuminating for me,” says Michelle Obama of her hugely anticipated memoir. “As I prepare to share Becoming this fall, I hope you’ll also think about your own story, and trust that it will help you become whoever you aspire to be. Your story is what you have, what you will always have. It is something to own.” As this book will be, also. Out November 13, 2018
