Incredible Women: Inside Our New York Fashion Week Party
With all eyes on New York, NET-A-PORTER kicked off New York Fashion Week with an Incredible Women party at SoHo’s hottest new restaurant, Straker’s. From the iconic guest list and incredible fashion to some truly unforgettable moments, here’s everything to know…
On an unseasonably warm September night in New York, NET-A-PORTER celebrated the start of New York Fashion Week with an Incredible Women party at British chef Thomas Straker’s newest outpost in downtown Manhattan – and there was much to celebrate.
Top of the agenda was toasting Cindy Crawford, iconic supermodel, business mogul and PORTER’s new September cover star. Crawford is perhaps our ultimate Incredible Woman, so it felt only right that she was the night’s guest of honor. Alongside Crawford, NET-A-PORTER CEO Heather Kaminetsky was joined by a host of inspirational women who are shaping the industry with their work, be it in fashion, art, sport or film. Here, we round up the highlights from an unforgettable night…

The what
Special guests gathered at chef Thomas Straker’s hot new dining spot, Straker’s, on Grand Street in the heart of bustling SoHo for an intimate event hosted by NET-A-PORTER.
Outside, the windows of the restaurant displayed PORTER’s September issue as a special newspaper – an ode to iconic New York newsstands – and the perfect backdrop where guests could stop and pose for photographs before heading inside.
Inside, the party was packed, the walls artfully adorned with images of our cover star Cindy Crawford and NET-A-PORTER’s face of fall/winter ’26, Abby Champion, both modeling the very best new-season fashion.
As New York’s best-dressed settled in for the night, they enjoyed a delectable selection of canapés and cocktails – including caviar-topped potato galette and signature house martinis – by none other than head chef Thomas Straker himself.
With drinks flowing and DJ Mia Moretti on the decks, guests mingled with friends old and new in cozy corners before hitting the dance floor.
The wear
A true NET-A-PORTER party, the night celebrated Incredible Women and incredible fashion in equal measure. Guests arrived in style, wearing some of the hottest fall/winter pieces by the likes of Saint Laurent, Tom Ford, Valentino Garavani and Chloé, offering a masterclass in after-dark dressing.
Guest of honor Cindy Crawford kept things sleek and understated in lace-trimmed black satin separates and a biker jacket, which she styled with little more than knee-high boots and an oversized watch. The perfect look for dinner and drinks downtown.
Katie Holmes, Emmy Rossum and Quentin Jones all embraced the timeless elegance of a black dress in looks by Jil Sander, Tom Ford and Alaïa respectively. Both Holmes and Rossum complemented theirs with a pair of point-toe pumps – the shoe of the season – and matching accessories.
NET-A-PORTER CEO Heather Kaminestky, Serena Williams, Aurora James and Coco Bassey all shone bright in vibrant jewel tones, ranging from amethyst and ultraviolet to trending chartreuse. Meanwhile, Mia Moretti, Nara Smith and Charlotte Groeneveld all opted for darkly romantic textures, including brocades, satin, leather and lace.
As the party came to an end and everyone reluctantly said their goodbyes, it was a moment to reflect on an unforgettable night – one filled with connection, conversation and incredible style. Here’s to next time…
