“I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t interested in fashion. As a little girl, I was obsessed with dressing myself and had a particular weakness for nice shoes.
“The thing I love the most about my job is forging close relationships with all my clients; I see them more as friends. We talk about shopping and fashion, of course, but also life in general. The challenges and rewards of my role are one and the same: I want to ensure all my clients receive a level of service that makes them feel happy, special and truly VIP. The greatest reward is getting positive feedback that confirms that I’ve done my job to the best of my ability.
“My own sense of style is cool and edgy, with some rock’n’roll-inspired details thrown in. My look has remained pretty consistent over the years but, recently, I have found myself gravitating towards more comfortable, timeless pieces that I’ll keep forever, rather than faddish pieces I’ll only wear a handful of times. I follow the trends, but always make sure to interpret them in a way that feels true to my personal aesthetic. It’s important to use fashion to create your own identity.”
A statement coat
“Living in London, with its changeable weather, a statement coat is a closet essential. Throwing on a beautiful coat is a fail-safe way to create an effortless yet cozy outfit – especially on those days when you only want to wear trackpants or jeans but still feel polished. You can always count on Max Mara and Isabel Marant for the best designs. I always opt for an oversized and masculine style, as I think it makes for a cooler look overall. This season, I’ll be styling my statement coat with chunky loafers and a ladylike mini bag.”
An investment bag
“I’ve loved handbags since I was a little girl, and would play dress-up with the pieces in my mother’s closet. As I became a teenager, I would still raid her wardrobe and noticed that, even though she’d had some of her bags for years, they were still very much ‘in fashion’. That’s when I realized that if you invest in a classic bag, you’ll be able to wear it forever. I am a big fan of Gucci – you can’t go wrong. The same goes for Bottega Veneta: the quality is excellent and its designs have serious staying power.”
An heirloom watch
“Every woman should have an heirloom watch in her jewelry box because it’s a true investment piece that will never lose its value. I’d recommend signature styles from maisons such as Cartier and Jaeger-LeCoultre – such as the ‘Ballon Bleu’ and ‘Reverso’. Personally, I have my eye on Cartier’s ‘Panthère de Cartier’ 22mm 18-karat gold and stainless-steel watch – it’s a bona fide classic. For added kudos, style your heirloom watch with bracelets for a cool daytime look, and don’t just save your luxury watch for a ‘special occasion’, either: wear it with everything from tracksuits to ball gowns – because a truly great watch works with every outfit.”
