Fall For Ralph Lauren Collection’s Enduring Elegance
For more than 50 years, the much-loved American brand has created timeless, sophisticated collections, and the fall/winter ’24 collection continues that legacy
Unsurprisingly, given Ralph Lauren’s extraordinary knack for conjuring an entire world, the gallery-style presentation space within the office perfectly reflected the polished sophistication of Ralph Lauren Collection – and the designer’s vision of timeless luxury. Paneled wood, luxurious carpet, immaculately cut flowers, seating pared back, walls adorned with pieces from Lauren’s personal art collection. The venue was a nostalgic echo of Ralph Lauren’s very first women’s collection presentation, back in 1972 – also shown at the same sleek headquarters. This year, the show was opened by Christy Turlington Burns, in top to toe neutrals, carrying a bag from the house’s new ‘RL 888’ collection, the look set the tone for the season – clean lines, polished detailing, easy, effortless, chic.
“The woman I design for has a beauty that comes from an inner confidence,” says Ralph Lauren, quoted for his fall/holiday 2024 collection press release. “She dresses for herself. Her style is personal and bold.” It is this woman, says Lauren, who inspires this collection – “her sense of timelessness, her individuality – a style that is forever.” These reflections are immediately evident in the collection itself. Shown at an intimate, salon-style presentation at Ralph Lauren’s design studio, every detail of the presentation was infused with the enduring elegance for which the brand has been well-known, and well-loved, for over 50 years.

Over 50 years and countless collections, Ralph Lauren has never bowed to trends, instead remaining true to a steadfast and singular vision: timeless, sophisticated, eternally and effortlessly elegant. Tailoring has always been the cornerstone of the designer’s legacy, and Ralph Lauren Collection’s fall/holiday ’24 is no exception – presenting the most beautifully cut, perfectly finished luxurious fabrics. The brand’s signature aesthetic combines classic silhouettes with a hint of American nostalgia and a dose of old Hollywood glamour – “she believes in quiet sophistication not defined by time or trends,” said Lauren of his woman. “She’ll throw a hand-tailored jacket over a glamorous evening dress” – both the muse and the brand capture the very essence of enduring style.
The brand always lets the clothes speak for themselves, and this collection is no exception. In a palette of soft neutrals, find crisply tailored jackets, bias-cut gowns, butter-soft knitwear. Designs showed hints of the Western influence so beloved by Ralph Lauren himself – think subtle fringing and loveworn leather – see the ‘Tomasso’ leather blazer. Every piece is impeccably cut, luxuriously crafted and meticulously finished – the sort of pieces you’ll have on wardrobe rotation for many years to come. Here, are the closet essentials the brand excels at – think beautifully tailored wide-leg ‘Acklie’ pants, the ‘Camden’ double-breasted navy blazer, the crisp-white ‘Marlie’ shirt. In terms of outerwear, the brand’s ‘Niles’ trench coat is the ultimate forever piece. And, of course, the classic bags to finish a look via the new ‘RL 888’ lineup.
