Isabel Marant is renowned for the luxe bohemian mood that infuses her collections – it’s one she’s channeled in a big way for pre-fall ’24. A highlight from the collection is the ‘Praline’ mini dress. Made from crisp white cotton, it exudes polish at first glance, but look a little closer and you’ll see glimpses of Marant’s independent spirit woven into the dress. The broderie-anglaise design, for example, depicts medallions and ladder stitches instead of flowers, and the bodice is layered to create the effect of a chic two-piece.

“I love the French-girl insouciance of this dress; it feels like something Jane Birkin would have worn on vacation in the ’60s with her signature basket bag in tow,” says junior fashion editor Kristen Neillie. “I’ll be channeling her summer style in a modern way this season by wearing the dress with Alaïa’s ‘Spike’ raffia mules and a pair of statement earrings. I’m obsessed with the cracked-resin detailing and teardrop shape of Bottega Veneta’s pair,” she adds.

Alongside a little white dress, a beautifully cut swimsuit should be high on your packing list for beach vacations. New to NET-A-PORTER, Sara Cristina’s elegant navy style has a flattering belted waist and a low scooped back, and is made by artisans in the brand’s native Venezuela. The hand-selected Japanese baroque pearl is a signature detail that will shine beautifully as it catches the sunlight.

For trips into the city after a morning by the pool, you’ll need a chic cover-up, and Toteme’s striped silk-crepe pants couldn’t be more perfect. “The elasticated waist and loose, wide-leg shape makes them ultra comfortable and so easy layer. Plus, you can wear them on the flight home or with tailoring when you’re back in the city,” says Neillie. To tie your look together, choose Loewe’s ‘Flamenco’ clutch, which comes with an optional shoulder strap (ideal when traveling), and a pair of simple slides – Tom Ford’s sleek ‘Whitney’ style is embellished with a gold monogram, adding instant polish.
