Riffing on minimalist ’90s styles, they are a natural companion to pared-back slip dresses and straight-leg jeans with a blazer and tee – add a shoulder bag and you’ve really nailed it. What feels newer are the blunt-toe ballet flats and loafers that lend a cooler feel to your look than their pretty, almond-toe counterparts – and therefore both deserve a place in your forever closet.
