Alongside beautiful design, it’s the stories behind how and where our clothes are made that sets them apart. Dedicated to preserving the ancestral textile heritage and crafting traditions of its native Peru, Escvdo sources all its fabrics locally and works with artisanal communities in nine regions across the country to bring each of its collections to life.

Qualifying for our NET SUSTAIN edit, the brand’s ‘Laguna’ dress is crocheted using five types of stitching and a mélange of burgundy and orange threads to create its unique ‘Copper Rose’ tone, inspired by the Peruvian coastline. But that’s not all – the hem is decorated with swishy tiered fringing that’s applied entirely by hand. “Escvdo’s dress is the perfect summer investment. It’s made from crocheted cotton, so as well as looking effortlessly glamorous, it’s wonderfully breathable and comfortable,” says PORTER’s fashion editor Marquessa Whyte. Take her advice and wear yours to dinner by the sea with Agmes recycled gold-vermeil ‘Astrid’ cuff and barely-there sandals that are easy to slip off for walks along the sand at sunset.

On balmy days, reach for casual separates. Although it’s technically a shirt, Anine Bing’s oversized ‘Dante’ style is substantial enough to double up as a jacket in transitional months. It’s made from a soft, organic-cotton blend and comes in a faded-blue wash that makes it feel like a prized vintage find. Emphasize its laid-back sensibility with equally relaxed pants or shorts. Toteme’s organic cotton and silk-blend pair are embroidered with the brand’s monogram and come in a comfy pajama-style shape.

When it comes to finishing touches, sleek accessories will elevate the look for lunches, gallery trips and day dates. Crafted from durable canvas, Khaite’s ‘Augustina’ bag has ample space inside for essentials – including a book, water bottle and cosmetics case – making it a practical choice whether you’re running errands or commuting, while Aeyde’s Mary Jane ballet flats will add instant polish. Finally, pop on Bottega Veneta’s geometric mixed-metal earrings to complete an effortless city look.
