The Brand Redefining The Term ‘Power Dressing’

With a focus on no-fuss clothing that takes you from day to night, New York label THE PARK demonstrates that great basics are anything but boring

Ask any well-dressed woman the key to looking consistently put-together and she is unlikely to extol the virtues of elaborate embroidery, trending silhouettes or sequins. Instead, a savvy dresser knows that investing in the right foundation pieces can make or break a look – and fit and fabric is key. A great pair of leggings should be able to segue from loungewear to lunch-date-ready with the addition of a cashmere sweater and boots, while the perfect bodysuit can be a summer staple paired with denim, or a key eveningwear layering piece come winter.

Just landed on NET-A-PORTER, New York label The Park launched in September 2024 with a streamlined range of four versatile fitted pieces designed to ground any outfit: a slim-fit crew-neck baby tee; a long-sleeve, stretch-knit fitted midi dress with a crew neck and embroidered bow at the wrist; an ultra-soft long-sleeve bodysuit; and The Park’s go-to hero piece – kitten-soft leggings with an attached fold-over mini skirt that effortlessly segues from the office to cocktail hour.

I don’t think women should have to constantly try and change to fit their clothes; their clothes should be made to adjust to them
Sarah Bonello, founder of The Park

“I designed these pieces to be like that best girlfriend who always makes you feel unstoppable,” says brand founder and New York native Sarah Bonello, who knew she had perfected her leggings when women in Paris approached her on the street to ask who designed them. A graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in fabric styling and marketing, Bonello had a career in fashion and luxury lifestyle PR before launching her label. The decision to go back to design came from observing the shift in dress codes, and a need for more versatile pieces that worked as hard as the women wearing them.

“Modern ‘power dressing’ means looking cool and being comfortable,” says the working mother, who set out to balance style with exceptional comfort, creating day-to-night pieces that can be dressed up and down, fitting and flattering a woman’s body as it changes. “I don’t think women should have to constantly try and change to fit their clothes; their clothes should be made to adjust to them.”

The beauty of The Park is that its pieces are designed to make you fall in love with your wardrobe again. Whether the perfect bodysuit to layer under your favorite blazer and jeans, or a tube dress that brings a modern edge to a simple cardigan and sandals. “What we choose to wear showcases who we choose to be,” says Bonello. “I want to help women make that everyday decision with confidence and ease.”

The brand, which stocks sizes XS to 2XL, has since expanded the range to 17 easy-to-wear staples that all come in black, plus some in shades of Admiral Blue and beige, too. Designed in New York and made in Los Angeles, the pieces marry the polish and sophistication of the former with the laid-back ease of the latter. Everything is crafted from Pyratex®, which uses innovative bio-based fibers to create a knit fabric that’s breathable, thick enough to conceal bra straps and retains its shape well.
