Established in 2012 by Erik Torstensson and Jens Grede to create the ‘perfect pair’ of blue jeans, today Frame delivers all the elements of a versatile closet and is loved by a host of celebrities, including Gisele Bündchen, Sienna Miller and Jennifer Lawrence. Born in Los Angeles, the brand brings a European refinement to the laid-back ease that embodies the California ethos, with an emphasis on impeccable cut, carefully selected materials and a clean, modern aesthetic to create elevated wardrobe basics you’ll wear on repeat. Here, three stylish tastemakers – Amalie Gassmann, Anouk Yve Bos and Stephanie Liu Hjelmeseth – style key pieces from the FW24 collection and share their love of this cult brand.

“My closet is all about good basics that have a flattering fit and will last for years,” says designer, business founder and content creator Anouk Yve Bos. “Items that are special in a toned-down, quality way,” she adds. Frame’s emphasis on carefully considered cuts and conscious craftsmanship ticks every box. Meticulously cut denim is a perfect match for cold-weather-ready knits, as Yve Bos explains: “The barrel leg [jeans] with a very soft checked knit feels so cozy but eye-catching, in the perfect neutral color combination.” And in terms of versatility, “The check knit is also perfect with a leather or suede pencil skirt and high pointy boots, and I love to combine my jeans with beautiful bold cashmere coats and a simple white tee.”

For FW24, photographer, filmmaker and writer Amalie Gassmann highlights the denim and knitwear: “Going into winter, I wanted to play around with layering and accessorizing, showcasing the versatility of the Frame sweater and jeans.” The joy here, she explains, is in creating a look that will take you anywhere – “a lunch meeting, a gallery day, exploring the city…” Gassmann approaches styling these pieces like building blocks, a strategy that perfectly suits the pared-back designs: “The jeans with kitten heels and a trench coat, or a midi skirt and loafers with the sweater.”

Longevity is a Frame hallmark: “[the pieces] have a great fit and last for years,” says Yve Bos, “so you can reinvent them according to the season.” The brand focuses on timeless design and quality over passing trends: “[I’d] rather invest in a few quality items that will be with me for years to come,” she says. Gassmann agrees: “Frame offers timeless pieces that I can style for any occasion – cool and effortless staples that are a must for my day-to-day.”

Content creator Stephanie Liu Hjelmeseth, too, looks to Frame for wardrobe foundations: “Frame focuses on sophisticated tailoring and luxurious fabrics, making each piece feel like a natural addition to your wardrobe.” Starting with denim, “the barrel jean is absolutely on-trend this season,” she says. “Bold and surprisingly flattering, it’s the perfect versatile piece for any day – busy workdays with a fitted long-sleeved tee, a ’90s-style blazer and sharp kitten heels. Or for a holiday – comfortable enough for travel with their relaxed fit.” Next, she says, add elevated knitwear: “The gray sweater has this wonderfully relaxed, slightly oversized fit that makes it my go-to for everything from school drop-offs, where I pair it with cashmere joggers, to winter evenings out, styled with bold jewelry and silk pants.” Cleverly combining elevated materials with considered design, Frame’s styles offer both adaptability and longevity, and, crucially, the brand knows its woman. As Liu Hjelmeseth says, “A versatile piece is a gift of freedom to balance being a working woman, a mom and a polished individual who moves through the day empowered in elegance and style.” Frame delivers on every count.
