As the end of summer approaches and we begin to think of falling leaves and cooler weather, so comes the moment to consider the key pieces we might invest in for the months ahead. Anyone looking for beautifully made clothing that marries old-school Italian glamour with a borrowed-from-the-boys aesthetic should look no further than the fall/winter ’25 collection from Giuliva Heritage.

The brand is the vision of husband-and-wife duo Margherita Cardelli and Gerardo Cavaliere, who saw a gap in the market for women’s ready-to-wear clothing crafted from the finest fabrics and drawing on traditional Italian tailoring techniques more commonly reserved for menswear. With Cardelli’s background in luxury brand consultancy and Cavaliere’s experience running a bespoke men’s atelier, the pair were perfectly positioned to execute their vision.

Their first collection debuted in Paris in 2017 and comprised just six coats on a rack, inspired by men’s cuts. “We started with coats because they were the natural transition from men’s tailoring into women’s,” says Cardelli, who runs the brand’s strategy, communications, and sales, while her husband acts as creative director, overseeing design.

The fall/winter ’25 collection marries rich, vibrant fabrics with delicate silks and robust vintage denim. Beautiful tweeds sit alongside super-soft cashmeres and buttery leather, creating a day-to-night wardrobe that’s understated but utterly luxurious.

We both love the idea of perfect pieces that are meant to last a lifetime, the way that our grandparents used to own just a few garments, and nonetheless they always had the right thing to wear to every event

Bouclé jackets, red culottes with a matching blazer, and a belted, tomato-red cashmere coat all have a touch of Audrey Hepburn about them – although imbued with a thoroughly modern edge. “Red is Gerardo’s favorite color,” Cardelli explains. “I learned to love it. Red is the color of strength, joy, and fullness of life. It’s a color that we always have in every one of our collections.”

For those days when breakfast is less Tiffany’s and more coffee-to-go, the collection boasts plenty of cool casualwear: cotton poplin shirting in pretty pastels and high-waisted, ’70s-inspired pale-wash denim are perfect for Saturdays spent at a gallery or lunching with friends, while a black crepe safari jacket and matching pants will take you from client meeting to cocktails with ease – just add a red lip and a pair of chunky gold earrings. The collection has several co-ord sets with mix-and-match appeal. “We believe in creating pieces that can always be combined together across collections,” Cardelli continues. “It’s fundamental for us to keep the story and feel coherent to what we are. Past, present, and future will always speak the same language.”

“We both love the idea of perfect pieces that are meant to last a lifetime,” says Cardelli, “the way that our grandparents used to own just a few garments, and nonetheless they always had the right thing to wear to every event.”

At its core, the collection feels current yet classic – and most definitely not shaped too heavily by the season’s trends. “Trends fade away,” says Cardelli. “We strongly believe that clothing, and style in general, are the language to express, without words, the inner personality.”
