Alongside goal-setting, wardrobe clear-outs and zealously renewed fitness regimes, January is also the most popular month of the year for planning a vacation. So much so that the travel industry has coined the first Saturday of the month ‘Sunshine Saturday’ for the surge in bookings it sees. And while most of us need very little encouragement to escape the new year’s cold and rain in favor of warmer climes, Agua by Agua Bendita’s Resort ’25 collection is such an immaculate edit of feminine and floral forever pieces, you’ll definitely want to book a suitably fabulous trip to wear them on, pronto.

All the designs are inspired by Latin America’s enchanting biodiversity and culture, and this season’s drop, titled ‘Aurora’, centers on the search for “an eternal garden through the valleys of Colombia”

Launched in 2003 in Medellín, Colombia, by friends Mariana Hinestroza and Catalina Álvarez, the brand initially focused on producing swimwear using leftover fabrics from local clothing factories, with the founders sewing pieces themselves on their grandmothers’ sewing machines. Its name comes from the Spanish word for ‘holy water’ – a nod to the fact that Álvarez’s mother insisted the pair blessed all the leftover fabric used in their first collection. The past decade has seen the business evolve and expand to become a go-to for those seeking an elevated resort-wear wardrobe with a unique and distinctly feminine feel. While the founders are no longer sewing garments themselves, the home-grown ethos remains; they employ female artisans to craft each piece by hand from the comfort of their own homes, allowing them to balance their work and family life.

All the designs are inspired by Latin America’s enchanting biodiversity and culture, and this season’s drop, titled ‘Aurora’, centers on the search for “an eternal garden through the valleys of Colombia,” says the brand. Flora and fauna thus take center stage in a collection that sings with the joys of spring.

Cascading honeysuckle and winding wisteria prints appear like watercolor illustrations on wedding guest-ready linen midi dresses and button-front bustier tops with matching ruffle-hem maxi skirts. For less dressy days, there are linen pajama sets and pastel-pink and turquoise-blue mini dresses with flattering square necklines that, when paired with a flat sandal, are perfect for picnics and exploring markets; or, combined with a low wedge heel and a sharp cropped jacket, make for a gorgeous garden party-ready ensemble.

Three-dimensional butterflies – specifically the mariposa blanca, an endemic species of Colombia – appear to take flight from a white skater dress, while the delicate beauty of the Madreselvas flower, known for its vibrant colors and sweet fragrance, inspires a gorgeous new print.

It wouldn’t be an Agua by Agua Bendita collection without some divinely chic swimwear, and this season the bestselling ‘Magdalena Orquidea’ bikini top comes in a pretty pale-pink floral print and, like all the brand’s swimwear, is made from recycled polyester and offers up to UPF50 sun protection. For a beachside lunch, simply throw on the elegant sage green ‘Lavanda Orquidea’ pareo, an Agua favorite carried over season after season.

In short, it’s a joyously whimsical collection worthy of a first-class flight to somewhere sunny – and you’ll want more than just hand luggage.
