The Khaite x NET-A-PORTER dinner
New York-based brand Khaite hosted a star-studded dinner in collaboration with NET-A-PORTER to celebrate fashion week and the start of the new season
WHO: Khaite creative directors Catherine Holstein and Vanessa Traina, Phoebe Tonkin, Haley Bennett, Emma Greenwell, Ana Khouri, Harley Viera-Newton, Pamela Love, Tata Harper, Camille Rowe, Linda Tol, Charlotte Groeneveld, Chloé Harrouche, Leandra Medine, Geraldine Boublil, Marie von Behrens, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Giedre Dukauskaite
WHERE AND WHAT: Fittingly, Khaite, the hottest brand in New York, hosted a dinner at one of the year’s hottest new openings, Babs in Greenwich Village, to celebrate the exclusive launch of their accessories line on NET-A-PORTER. Despite the restaurant’s namesake, however, the atmosphere was less diva and more diverse. Encompassing the worlds of design, interiors, acting and, basically, exquisite talent, the friends of the brand perfectly reflected the aesthetic of Khaite’s creative director, Catherine Holstein, renowned as one of NYC’s most impeccable tastemakers. Dressed in FW19’s best – think dropped necklines and dramatic sleeves – worn with a smattering of pieces from the brand’s runway show the previous day, the diners toasted the success of the launch while overtly coveting the zebra-print, calf-hair knee-high boots, and the sleek, black leather ankle versions, desperate to slip them into their trans-seasonal closets. The head-nodding and totally recognizable ’90s soundtrack by DJ Wade Crescent was reflective of the pull of the brand. Essentially, never overthink the basics, but make them totally unforgettable.
